The culmination of Joe's fishing adventures was a one-week charter at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The boating / fishing thrills and excitement and family fun on these waters will long be remembered by all the Temples. Recreational interest #1 was owning, at various times, 6 boats for cruising Lake Superior, the North Channel, the Georgian Bay, Lake Michigan, the waters of Nova Scotia and the Bahamas, mostly on board his beloved Marlin Quest, or fishing for sailfish and blue marlin in Florida, the Bahamas, Mexico, and the Turks & Caicos. He then spent 6 years at the Marion Merrell Dow Pharmaceutical Company in Kansas City, MO -first as CEO and Chairman of the Board before retiring as Vice Chairman of the Board in 1995. He spent 38 years with the Dow Chemical Company at various locations and in numerous jobs, concluding his career as an Executive Vice President of the company and a member of Dow's Board of Directors. Purdue also awarded him an Honorary Doctor of Engineering Degree, named him a Distinguished Engineering Alumni and an Outstanding Chemical Engineer. Joe graduated in 1951 in chemical engineering from Purdue University. The single thing that Joe is most proud of is that he was a very, very good / loving husband to both Ann and Margaret!! ![]() Margaret was recognized with many awards and honors for excellency, not just in the cable TV industry, but in a life devoted to helping all people!! Joe was twice blessed that 2 of the very most wonderful women in the whole wide world chose him to be their husband. Margaret's great love for all people and all animals led her to devote much of her life to serving on the boards of local nonprofits and working on their projects especially fund raising. She moved to Stuart because it was a good place to raise her daughter, Betsy. After a career which included VP titles at Group W Cable and Westinghouse, she founded Richebourg Marketing. Two characteristics describe their lives together - great, great love and devotion to one another with all the happiness that only that can bring. Margaret Richebourg and Joe met in January 2016 and were married on February 26, 2017. ![]() Margaret's daughter, Betsy Reid Willett, and her husband, Erich Tusch, now living in Denmark, also survive Joe.Īfter being alone for almost 6 years, Margaret Richebourg brought very, very much love, happiness, and joy back into Joe's life. Taylor and her husband Tom in Jackson Hole, WY and sons Jim Temple in Bellingham, WA and John Temple and his wife Patricia in Fort Collins, CO and their two boy's families, Chris and Samara Petty with great-grand son Jaxton and great-grand daughter Jayde and Patrick and Michelle Petty, all living in Colorado. Friends, in describing Ann and Joe's marriage, said - "You two are the greatest love story we've ever known, and you have long been our role model." For almost 58 years Ann was the most wonderful wife anyone could ever have in every way, as confident, best friend, and a splendid role model for the Temple children. When Ann chose Joe to be her husband it was the start of one of the world's long and forever and true loves. Joe lost his wife of almost 58 years whom he loved so very, very much - the former Ann Elizabeth McFerran, on March 16, 2010.
